Agriculture & Sustainable Farming

Organic practices have been used in fruit and vegetable production for the 40 years the Guild has been at its current rural location. A five-year-old market garden, named East Hill Farm, sells to the community through farmers markets and East Hill CSA [http://easthillcsa.org]. Additionally, an organic and biodynamic community garden provides vegetables for residents. Agricultural projects include organic farming, orcharding, vineyard work, food preservation (mainly canning and freezing), beekeeping, sustainable forestry/firewood production, and general building/grounds maintenance.

Good stewardship of the land has been  a guiding principle for more than 30 years it East Hill Farm. The farm has followed organic and biodynamic farming practices since its founding in 1967.
