Pottery: Listening to the Clay

A Workshop with Annie Schliffer
Participants will explore clay using various exercises and work processes. Students will begin by making pinch pots and coil pots, and go on to slab building and throwing clay. The hands, feet and entire body will experience the tactile medium of clay, and the process will be similar to that of listening, seeking to discover how the clay itself wants to proceed with the act of creation.
Optional Fee: $25 (for firing after workshop)

Master Potter, Annie Schliffer has worked in the studios of the Rochester Folk Art Guild for many years. She has studied and taught pottery at centers in China, Peru, India and North Carolina and has incorporated many of these learned techniques into her current repertoire.
